Six Things I Love Sunday

This morning, I woke up and thought, A lot of people are reading this blog, and they really don’t know anything about me. So, I came up with Six Things I Love Sunday.  I decided this morning that Sundays are going to strictly consist of me listing things I love, because I’m just that self-centered. 🙂

 

1. birchbox.com

Why? If you love makeup and products, this website is for you.  Essentially, Birchbox is a company which, for ten dollars a month, sends you four or five different products each month.  I’ve been a member for almost a year, and I’ve gotten everything from nail polish to protein bars to perfume.  You make a beauty profile and answer questions which help the Birchbox team assemble your specialized gift box each month.  The best part is, you can accumulate points by reviewing the products they send, which can be used to buy full-sized products at a discount.  It’s really a great website, and I’m always satisfied with what they send me.

 

2. Twirl by Kate Spade

Why? My new favorite perfume.  Floral and citrus scents blended together to create the perfect, happy fragrance.  For a 1.7 fl oz it’s about $65.  However, I got mine for $45 from Birchbox by using my points.  Okay, I’ll stop shamelessly promoting now.

 

3. Barnes and Noble

Just my dream come true.

Why? I’m a huge book nerd, and some of my fondest memories of childhood include Barnes and Noble.  I remember my dad taking my brother and me to Barnes and Noble for an afternoon, and while my brother squirmed and complained, I was always lost in the sheer amount of books that I could choose from.  Since then, I have wasted countless hours browsing and reading at Barnes and Noble, curled up in one of those huge armchairs they have.  And with that…

 

4. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

Why? This is one of the best books I have ever read, only partly because Kesey was on LSD while writing parts of it, and it’s pretty obvious which parts.  This book, set in an insane asylum, focuses on the mischief of Randle Patrick McMurphy, a convict who opts to serve his prison sentence in the asylum instead.  It’s a great book, and I seriously recommend it.

 

5. Diet Coke

Yum…

Why? If there was such a thing as a DietCokeaholic, it would be me.  I drink way more than I should, and now that I’m dieting and exercising more, I’m trying to cut back on it.  But how do you cut back on something that’s so delicious?  I’m still trying to figure that one out.

6. Blogging

Why? Obviously everyone on this site likes to blog, otherwise we wouldn’t be doing it.  I just started, but I’ve realized how great it is to just get your thoughts out there and be able to look at what you’ve written in the past. And hey, if someone happens to comment or take interest in what your saying, that’s just an added bonus.
